As Indiana’s oldest zoo, the Potawatomi Zoo is one of the most important cultural institutions in the Michiana area. The Zoo is home to over 400 animals on 23 acres. More than 200,000 guests visit the Zoo annually – making it the second largest attraction in the area after Notre Dame.

Each year, through special events and educational programming, the Zoo seeks to capture the excitement and the imagination of visitors while helping to continue its active conservation, education, and species preservation programs.

Join the Potawatomi Zoological Society for the 2008 Zoo-to-Doo, A Walk on the Wild Side. This fund-raiser is an exciting event that proves to be a fantastic evening at the Zoo. Attendees have the opportunity to stroll through the zoo as they enjoy cocktails and appetizers, while learning about the Zoo’s history and species conservation programs. The evening continues with dancing and a live auction featuring exclusive zoo-related items. This event has broad-based appeal, with a projected attendance of 350 people in its first year. Your participation includes tickets/table at the event, recognition during the event, and much more. 

Golf Outing - September 24, 2008

The Potawatomi Zoological Society’s 5th annual Safari Classic Golf Outing will take place in 2008. Participants enjoy lunch, golf and cocktails and hors d'Oeurves following the outing during a reception, featuring a presentation from Terry DeRosa, Zoo Director, and including awards and prizes. Cost is $125.00 per person or $500 for a foursome.

All funds raised from the Safari Classic go towards our efforts to promote the zoo, provide new and exciting exhibits and help enhance and enrich the animal population at the zoo.

Zoo Boo – October, 24, 25 and 26 2008

Zoo Boo and Little Zoo Boo is the ideal way to effectively reach more than 10,000 family consumers in a matter of three days. This Halloween event at the Zoo provides a safe trick-or-treat experience for families and their children. Activities include a haunted train ride on Friday and Saturday evening with a toddler friendly train ride on Sunday afternoon, costumed characters, and treats handed out from local vendors. Corporate partners receive on-site signage before and during the event, plus recognition on our website and on site display opportunities.

Members' picnic - July 19, 2008

Our members' appreciation picnic is a great way to reach famililes throughout Michiana through a variety of opportunites. Sampling and display opportunities are available, and we are seeking a variety of in kind donations including food, dessert, and family friendly entertainment etc.
