Yellow-crested cockatoos are notable for their bright yellow crests, which slope in a frontal direction. The undersides of their tails and wings are also yellowish. Yellow-crested cockatoos are usually 13 to 14 inches in length, according to BirdLife International. Other noteworthy features of these birds include grayish feet, black beaks and pale blue coloring surrounding their eyes. Youngsters closely resemble fully mature yellow-crested cockatoos.
