Description: Metallic green on a black background with green bands on the arms and legs. Green marbling on a blackish belly. These frogs have a toxin. Their bright coloration acts as a warning to other animals. Not many predators can withstand the poison of a poison dart frog. The frogs’s poison is secreted through the skin and even a lick can sometimes prove fatal. They have about 200 micrograms of poison in their systems. It would take only 2 micrograms to kill a human.

Conservation Status: Least Concern
