Two-Toed Sloth

Choloepus didactylus

Animal Class: Mammals

Height: 24-27 inches

Weight: 17.5 pounds

Diet: Herbivore

Habitat: They live in trees in the tropical and cloud forests of Central and South America

Description: The Linne’s two-toed sloth is one of the world’s slowest mammals—so sedentary that algae grows on its furry coat. The plant gives it a greenish tint that is useful camouflage in the trees of its Central and South American rainforest home. Sloths are identified by the number of long, prominent claws that they have on each front foot. There are both two-toed and three-toed sloths.

Our Animals: Lola, Tofu, Lily, Lenny, Tempo, and Miso. Some of these sloths are also Ambassador Animals.
