Warthogs have a coat of black or white bristles on gray skin and pronounced facial warts on a large head with impressive upper tusks. Eyes are small, ears are fairly long, and the tail is tasseled. The warthog’s facial warts protect its eyes against injury from an opponent. Their small, sharp lower tusks are their main weapon.
