Day in the Life of a Zookeeper

The spring classes will explore the day in the life of a zoo vet, ungulate keeper, and zoo dietician.

  • Vet: So, You Want to be a veterinarian? This class will explore the day in the life of a vet that takes care of all of the animals at the Potawatomi Zoo. Take a tour of our zoo hospital, practice veterinary skills, and see if you have what it takes to be a vet someday!
  • Ungulate: So, you want to be a zookeeper? This class will explore the day in the life of a zookeeper that takes care of hooved animals including giraffes, zebras, kudu, bison, rhinos, alpacas, goats, takins, and more. Feed hooved animals, brush some goats, and learn more about some of our gentle giants at the Potawatomi Zoo!

    • Zoo Dietician: So, You Want to be a Dietitian? This class will explore the day in the life of a dietician that preps the diets for all the animals at the Potawatomi Zoo. Take a tour of our diet kitchen, learn about what a zoo dietician does, play some games, and see if you have what it takes to be a dietician someday!

This class is designed for children in 4th to 6th grades.

Cost: $25. Zoo Members receive a 10% discount.
