Endangered Species Day!
May 17 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Endangered Species Day is a national day of celebration for people of all ages to learn about the importance of protecting endangered species and everyday actions they can take to help protect them. Join us in learning about the importance of conserving endangered species and participating in our Chalk the Plaza art competition!
The Endangered Species Day: Chalk the Plaza Art Competition is in partnership with the South Bend Museum of Art, and will allow Zoo guests to vote for their favorite artist! Each art piece on the Zoo’s entry plaza will feature an endangered species. Adult and youth (13 – 17 years old) artists are invited to compete in the chalk competition. Please complete the registration form and return to Potawatomi Zoo’s Education Department with the entry fee, $10 for adults, $8 for children.
We will also be highlighting some of the endangered animals that call Potawatomi Zoo home with activity stations located around the zoo. Part of the proceeds collected from this event will go towards conservation efforts for monarch butterflies, tigers, anteaters, and hellbenders. We are On a Mission to Save Species!
