This month, the tasting corrals in front of the Red Barn and Emu Gate will include beers from Metazoa and Round Barn Brewery. There will also be three bars open: The Round Barn Bar, Otter Outpost, and Porcupine Pours Bar (cans only). Besides having a full range of drinks for guests 21 and over to purchase, there will be a special “Cheers to Dad” option of a filled Potawatomi Zoo beer mug or beer can and koozie for $10. For non-drinkers, a build-your-own non-alcoholic option will be available for $1.

There will be fun activities for the whole family at the Zoo. Regular attractions and amenities, such as the Congo Café, Gift Shop, Learning Center, Potawatomi Express train, and Endangered Species carousel will be open during Roars & Pours Family Nights.

Zookeepers will present several animal experiences on June 13: warthogs at 5:45 pm, spider monkeys at 6:30 pm (they can be viewed from the Dragonfly deck), and lions at 7:15 pm. These experiences may include watching zookeepers feed the animals, offer them enrichment, or listening to a talk.

Other activities will be set up in the center of the Zoo near the leopards. The Potawatomi Zoo American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) will have a table with unique items for sale to raise money for conservation. DJ Jayson Smith will be playing music and U-93 will broadcast live from the Zoo. Behind the Mask Face Painting by Mia will have face painting. Tickets for face painting are $7 and can be purchased at the front entrance, gift shop, or train ticket booth.

Admission for Roars & Pours Family Nights is $5 per person 15 and up, $1 for children 3-14, and free for babies 2 and under. Tickets for all Roars & Pours events are available for pre-sale at any local Martin’s Supermarket or the Zoo admission booth. Tickets to Roars & Pours are also available in the Summer Pass from Downtown South Bend. There is a special entrance for pre-sale ticket holders.

The Roars & Pours Family Night series is sponsored by Round Barn Winery, Brewery, & Distillery and U-93.
