Habitat: Arid, rocky areas of northwest Australia

Description: Also known as an ackie monitor, these smaller monitor lizards are mostly tail and have a ridge of “spines” down their back. They’re dark brown with lighter spots and stripes, including pale stripes on its neck.

Conservation Status: Least Concern
