Your membership is only for you and your family, meaning it is for the two named adults and the number of children listed on the card. If a named adult with photo ID is not present with the membership card, then the membership cannot be used.

The only exception to this is if your child is coming to the Zoo on a field trip. Your child may use your membership on a field trip to the Potawatomi Zoo, even without a named adult present. To do so, you need to send a membership card (or copy of the membership card) and a copy of one of the named adults’ photo ID with your child.

To do so, you need to send a membership card (or copy of the membership card) and a copy of one of the named adults’ photo ID with your child. This is the only time a child may use the membership without a named adult present.

If you have an unnamed guest on your membership then you may bring in a different person with you for each visit, provided that one of the named adults is there. Unnamed guests cannot come into the Potawatomi Zoo under a membership without a named adult present. If you have a named guest, then that person can come into the Zoo under your membership without a named adult present, however that guest slot can only be used by the named guest.

Since we are under construction this year, there is not special entrance for members. We have only one booth this year, and while we will do our best to get everyone into the Zoo as quickly as possible, we do want you to be aware that you may have to wait in line before entering the Zoo. If you want to help make this process move quicker and smoother, please have your membership card and the photo IDs of all the named adults present out of your purse or wallet when you join the line.

Yes, you can add a guest to any regular membership. If you name your guest, they can attend the Zoo without you. If you leave your guest unnamed (just enter “guest” on the application), they must be accompanied by a named adult.

There are two options in which you can choose. 1: Show your ID at the membership booth and they will be able to look your membership up or 2: Fill out an Active Membership Change form available at the Membership Booth or call (574) 235-7651 and for a small $5 fee, you will receive two new replacement cards. Purchasing the replacement cards will not only make your experience at the admission booth easier, but also much faster!

We will let you know when it’s time to renew! You will receive notices both by mail and email. This is why it is important to always keep your information updated with your membership.

Your membership at Potawatomi Zoo has many great privileges such as using our Reciprocal Program. This reciprocal program gives you free or discounted admission to over 150 zoos across the United States and Canada. Make sure you always travel with your membership ID, as membership databases are not linked and they will have no way to verify your membership.

We have a list of reciprocal zoos available online, but check with the individual zoo you plan to visit in advance. Reciprocal privileges may be changed without prior notification. The reciprocal institution’s definition of membership levels, which may vary from Potawatomi Zoo’s definition, are applicable to admission.
Reciprocation typically applies to general admission only. It does not include parking, petting zoos, special exhibits, souvenir discounts, rides, special events, or guests.
