Become a Zoo Member
Your membership is only for you and your family, meaning it is for the two named adults and the number of children listed on the card. If a named adult with photo ID is not present with the membership card, then the membership cannot be used. The only exception to this is if your child is coming to the Zoo on a field trip. Your child may use your membership on a field trip to the Potawatomi Zoo, even without a named adult present. To do so, you need to send a membership card (or copy of the membership card) and a copy of one of the named adults’ photo ID with your child.

Yes, your child may use the membership on a field trip to the Potawatomi Zoo, even without a named adult present. To do so, you need to send a membership card (or copy of the membership card) and a copy of one of the named adults’ photo ID with your child. This is the only time a child may use the membership without a named adult present.

You can add an unnamed companion to your Single Level membership. You can purchase a Family +1 membership that includes a named or unnamed guest.

If you have an unnamed guest or companion on your membership, then you may bring in a different person with you for each visit, provided that one of the named adults is there. Unnamed guests or companions cannot come into the Potawatomi Zoo under a membership without a named adult present.

If you have a named guest, then that person can come into the Zoo under your membership without a named adult present. However, that guest slot can only be used by the named guest.

The membership entrance door is located on the left side of the new entrance building.

To expedite the check-in process, please have your membership card and the photo IDs of all the named adults present out of your purse and wallet and ready to hand to the admissions attendant.

Yes! You can buy a membership online here and use it immediately. Just show your receipt and your photo ID.

No, attraction passes can only be purchased onsite at the front entrance, gift shop, Congo Café, Round Barn Bar, Otter Outpost, and Chill Zone. Attraction passes are $30 for 15 rides that can be used on the Potawatomi Express or Endangered Species Carousel.

You can purchase a Family +1 membership or you can add an unnamed companion to any Single Level membership.

If you have a named guest, they can attend the Zoo without you.

If your guest or companion is unnamed (just enter "guest" on the application), they must be accompanied by a named adult.

There are two options in which you can choose. 1: Show your ID at the membership desk and they will be able to look your membership up or 2: Fill out an Active Membership Change form available at the Membership Booth or call (574) 235-7651. For a $5 fee, you will receive two new travel replacement cards or $15 to replace the plastic membership card.

Purchasing the replacement cards will not only make your experience at the admission booth easier, but also much faster! Plus, most of our reciprocal zoo partners require a membership card for reciprocal benefits.

We will let you know when it’s time to renew! You will receive two notices by email and one by postal mail.

If you need to update your contact information to make sure you are getting renewal notices, please contact the Zoo at zooinfo@potawatomizoo.org or (574) 235-7651.

Your membership at Potawatomi Zoo has many great privileges such as using our Reciprocal Program. This reciprocal program gives you free or discounted admission to over 150 zoos across the United States and Canada. Make sure you always travel with your membership ID, as membership databases are not linked and they will have no way to verify your membership.

We have a list of reciprocal zoos available online, but check with the individual zoo you plan to visit in advance. Reciprocal privileges may be changed without prior notification. The reciprocal institution's definition of membership levels, which may vary from Potawatomi Zoo's definition, are applicable to admission.
Reciprocation typically applies to general admission only. It may not include parking, petting zoos, special exhibits, souvenir discounts, rides, special events, or guests.
